Atiku promises Zamfara security, wealth creation

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has promised the people of Zamfara that if elected, he will ensure the return of security in the embattled state and create the necessary atmosphere for business to thrive.

Speaking at the party’s presidential rally in Gusau on Monday, he said if they vote for the PDP, he will ensure that the people lives are rebuilt to enable them to engage in their normal activities especially farming.

“People of Zamfara State, where there is no security there will be no farming, no business, no worship. Is that not the situation now?” He asked.

He added: “Some of the things that we shall do for you all is to bring about peace at Zamfara state. Once we return peace to Zamfara state, we are also going to create wealth, business and farming. By Allah’s grace farming will return, wealth will return, businesses will blossom and the jobless youth will be employed.”

“People of Zamfara, everyone of you knows the Bakolori dam, is it working now? We will repair the dam so that it will work and serve you all. It will help the people of Zamfara people and others in farming.”

“Zamfara people, this is the time for you all to say APC will not get any elective position in Zamfara. Therefore, the vote you will all vote is PDP’s vote.”

Also speaking at the event, the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, admonished the nation’s security agencies to safeguard the unity of this country by being neutral in all their operation in this general elections.

He said that the PDP has credible intelligence that some security operatives are being hired by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to connive with some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to manipulate the election in their favour.

Secondus, however said that there are still some good patriotic operatives who do their job professionally.

He advised the security operatives to be guided by the constitution of the country as any bias roles from them in this election is capable of plunging this country into major crisis.

The National Chairman said that the endorsement of the PDP Presidential candidate by all the apex ethnic bodies of the North, the East, the West, the South and the middle belt shows clearly where Nigeria is headed to in this election.

“By that endorsement which APC is refusing to accept as coming from the people, Nigerians of all divides have spoken that the APC administration can no longer continue,” he said.
