ATBU affirms Ibrahim Garba as substantive VC

Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba has been appointed as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi

He emerged as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University after the selection processes put in place since the end of the tenure of former Vice Chancellor, Prof Abdulaziz.

Pro chancellor of the University and Chairman, Governing Council, Air Commodore, Emmanuel K Jekada (retired), made the announcement on Thursday at the end of the Council meeting in Bauchi.

Jekada said that the Governing Council of the University approved the appointment of Garba after a rigorous process.

He also said that the process started since last February with advertisement and after a thorough screening and interviews of all the applicants.

He added that, Professor Garba emerged first, beating two other contestants for the exalted post.

He urged the new Vice Chancellor to do his best and move the University to greater heights.
