The Lagos home of erudite scholar, Professor Wale Omole was occupied by friends, relatives, associates, and admirers of the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ife some days ago in celebration of his 82nd birthday.
Professor Omole, the Chairman Editorial Board of the Guardian Newspaper clocked 82 and didn’t allow the day to pass without a celebration.
The octogenarian woke up to a cultural display by the Oyetunde Akewi Entertainment troupe who were contracted to start his day with a birthday rendition.
During the ceremony, the celebrant announced the plan to launch his Wale Omole Foundation, a foundation tasked with reviving the heartbeat of Yoruba virtues.
In his reflections, Professor Omole talked about his early days, memories of his late wife, his efforts to revive the rich Yoruba heritage and his unwavering pursuit of excellence.
