The name, ‘Mama Bovas’, is popular in Oyo State and other parts of the Southwest. The Bovas Petroleum boss, Mrs Victoria Samson, is a hero-figure to the masses and the common people.
Her husband, Architect Bamidele Samson, who founded Bovas rather enjoys a private life and is known to few friends and associates.
Few days ago, the family threw an elaborate party to celebrate Architect Bamidele, who clocked 80 on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
The Samson family, for reasons best known to them, decided to shift the celebration to the month of August. As expected, the celebration was worth the wait!
The International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan was the venue of the birthday celebration attended by the city best, the party lords and the merry-makers who added fun and glamour to the event.
Gbenga Adeyinka, who served as the official compere, threw the party open with the introduction of the celebrant and recognition of Governor Seyi Makinde and Governor Demola Adeleke, who took turns in paying tributes to the Europe-trained architect .
