The Anambra Police Command has reassured on security, ahead of Saturday, March 18th, 2023 House of Assembly election in the State.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderemi Adeoye, gave an update on the security situation in the state when he spoke with Nigerian Tribune at the State Command Headquarters Amawbia, on Thursday.
Adeoye said he was impressed with the level of security across the state ahead of the election.
According to the CP, men and women of the Command in collaboration with our sister agencies in the state, the DSS, NSCDC, FRSC and Immigration Service, are fully equipped for the national assignment.
“Working with other sister agencies, we will ensure that criminals do not free to pose threats to the peace-loving people of the state during the voting proper.
“Nigeria Police is always prepared for any national assignment. We are fully equipped to render effective Policing in securing election-sensitive materials. INEC officials against any attack, provide a conducive atmosphere for the electorate to exercise their franchise and patrol all the nook and cranny of the state to reassure the people of their safety and ensure that the election succeeded.
“Our deployment in hands with other sister agencies will take care of the 5,720 polling units and 326 wards in the state.
He urged all the political parties, participating in the State Assembly election to sensitise their supporters to vote and not to fight, warning against the dire consequences that await those who might want to operate outside the armpit of the Law before, during and after the period.
