Though a boarder, I have spare time and I use it for many things. During the period, I read my books for about 30 minutes, do sports, read Quran and most especially, sleep. Other things I do are paying a visit to the school’s shop, library, ICT lab to play scratch. I play indoor games a lot like table tennis, cards and I used to race. When I have enough time, I read story books or listen to it or write one. However, during examinations, I read my books only and do my homework.

Basically, sports time is the period when I have a lot of spare time and I like doing many things. I engage in sports, play or invent something  with my friends, read loads of books or chat. Another spare time I have is my siesta when I normally sleep or do my home work depending on how I feel.

Ahmadu Safiyyah Ibrahim,

Everywhere one is, he or she would have time and of course have to do something with it. In my school, our spare time is usually weekends. During this time, I usually wash, sleep or gist with friends in the hostel. I don’t like sports so during sports time, I prefer staying with the teacher on duty to ask questions on areas such specialize in or go to the library. I like the spare time because it is a time to know who you really are and also know the environment I stay in.

As a boarding school, school activities are always many or copious. Our spare time are siesta, sports and weekends, before light out, etc. I always sleep during siesta because of activities I have ahead of me. At sports time, it is either I play football, read or was my dirty clothes. In addition to this, after the afternoon prayer, I go to the computer laboratory to learn coding with my friends. I prepare for the next day of school before light out.

My spare time is usually occupied with a lot of activities so when I am less busy, I often spend my time wisely. During my spare time, I read my Quran and also pray to God to God to make me succeed. Aside this, I do most of my laundry and read later on. It is a challenge to do both but I try to manage to complete every task. I sometimes spend my spare time sleeping because a human being needs a specific amount of sleep.

I really enjoy doing a lot of things with my spare time. I chat with my classmates, go for sports, read my notes, and sometimes sleep. I love reading novels but I have only one which I have read a million time so I don’t read it anymore. Sometimes, I play volley ball or just watch the boys playing football and at other times, play Ayo olopon or other hand games.

There is not always enough time to do everything but when there is, I try to do my homework. I also read in my spare time and within these few months, I have become a bookworm. However, I have made a personal timetable as I would wash my clothes and iron them, play outdoor games, watch television, etc. In addition, I do go to buy things from the school’s shop.

During my spare time, I like walking around the school to appreciate nature mostly when I am bored. Aside this, I like playing hand ball or sometimes go to the library to read some books while I gist with my friends about different things. I watch movies mostly on Friday and Saturday during the day or at night. Then I sleep at my spare times to regain my energy.

Hameedah Akano, JSS3

My spare time has always been enjoyed. It starts Saturday till Sunday and sometimes during school days on Friday. During my free time, I watch movies, play games and wash clothes. I am always very happy when I have my own time because I get to do things that I cannot do when I am busy. For instance on Friday and Saturday nights, I am allowed to watch movies. I am always glad with this because I refresh my brain. I wish my school continues to giving me my spare time because it serves as the best time for extracurricular activities. It is a very fresh and exciting time I wish for.

Sometimes at my spare time, I wisely go for sports, read or rest. At times, I go on hiking or wash my clothes. I also use part of my time to commit myself and all about me to God in prayer.
