Army TRADOC seeks stronger media partnerships for improved service delivery

The Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) of the Nigerian Army in Minna has reassured the media of a stronger working relationship while seeking the partnership of media practitioners to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations at TRADOC Headquarters, Minna, Niger State, Lt. Col. Uba Sani, gave this assurance on Wednesday during his familiarisation visit to the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) office in Minna.

Lt. Col. Sani stated that the media are partners in progress and must be accorded their rightful place to enhance effective communication for the benefit of both parties and society at large.

He emphasised that the Nigerian Army, particularly TRADOC, has its mandates, which must be constitutionally guided in the interest of the country, while urging the media to assist in achieving their objectives.

In response, the Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Yakubu Mustapha Bina, applauded the visit, describing it as a demonstration of competence, ability, and commitment to excelling in their assignments.

Comrade Mustapha Bina, who also commended the command, stated that the Nigerian Army has played a critical role in maintaining peace and stability in the country and deserves support in carrying out its activities for the progress of the nation.

He described the visit as historic and memorable but urged TRADOC Command to engage all media organisations to ensure inclusiveness and objectivity in their reportage.

Lt. Col. Uba also visited the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Abu Nmodu, the NAN Bureau Chief, Mohammed Baba Busu, and the NTA Minna office as part of the tradition of the office to familiarise with the media for a good working relationship.

The Deputy Director of Public Relations at TRADOC also presented awards of recognition to the Correspondents’ Chapel Chairman, NUJ, and the NAN Bureau Chief.
