The Nigerian Army 2 Brigade, Akwa Ibom State has called on the general public to keep calm and go about their normal businesses as demolition of unserviceable ammunitions and explosives will take place under strict control.
The call by the Nigeria Army was contained in a release endorsed by Lieutenant Adebowale AdeJimi, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and made available to journalists in Uyo.
Scheduled to take place at 6 Battalion Range Area Abak LGA, between Tuesday, September 10 to Thursday, September 19, 2024, the release urged the people of Abak LGA and environs, to stay off the designated exercise area.
They are also requested not to panic at the sound of explosives and to note that adequate measures have been placed for safety and security at the range area and environs.
