Army buries 13 soldiers , 1 officer in Kaduna

THE Headquarter of the 1 Mechanised Division, Nigeria Army has buried 13 slain soldiers and one officer who died on active duty on December 24, 2018.

The soldiers and the officer were said to have been killed along Damaturu/ Maiduguri road by Boko Haram.

The General Officer Commanding, GOC, 1 Div, Major General Mohammed Mohammed said it has been a grim day in the Division and the entire Army since the departure of the fallen heroes.

While consoling the families of the deceased at the Commonwealth cemetery in Kaduna on Friday, the GOC remarked that the slain soldiers exemplified the values of the nation and the military.

He urged that the gallant troops should not relent in their efforts to ensuring that they get rid of kidnappers, bandits and other criminal elements.

General Mohammed assured the gallant troops of the Chief of Army resolve to provide adequate equipment to fight the insurgents.

” I want to assure you of the unwavering support of the Chief of Army Staff and the leadership of our dear nation in ensuring that you are provided with necessary equipment as well as adequate welfare to carry out your duty effectively and efficiently.”
