Arewa group commends NUPRC boss for exceeding revenue target by 49%

The Arewa Youth Assembly has hailed the Commission Chief Executive (CCE) of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Engineer Gbenga Komolafe, for surpassing the expected revenue target of the Commission by 49 per cent.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Speaker of the Arewa Youth Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Salihu Danlami, and made available to journalists in Abuja.

Alhaji Danlami, who was elated with the recent development, added that “you can see where Engineer Gbenga has taken the Commission as a pioneer Chief Executive, without any blueprint or predecessor to look up to.”

He said it is commendable to achieve such a feat amidst the onslaughts on oil and gas investments due to the global push for energy transition.

Danlami noted that achieving such a feat doesn’t come by mere luck or coincidence, but it takes a lot of hard work, commitment, skill, strength, bravery, and strategy.

“As CCE of a regulatory commission, he has been able to significantly block leakages and open up the industry for massive investments despite the divestment of some oil and gas assets.

“We implore Nigerians to stay calm and expect more as Engineer Gbenga is set to achieve more revenue targets and ultimately contribute more revenues for the government to operate effectively through his well-thought-out initiatives, which include the Project One Million Per Day initiative, bid rounds, drill or drop, and other mandates as set by the PIA.

“Since the inception of this commission with Engineer Komolafe as the head, its contributions in terms of revenues to the government cannot be overemphasized. Indeed, he has become an indispensable pillar necessary for the growth of the oil and gas sector and a big boost to the economy of our country.

“While we commend Engineer Gbenga Komolafe for the way and manner he is transforming and restructuring the upstream sector and the entire oil and gas industry, we congratulate Nigerians for having such a dedicated, hard-working, selfless, transparent, honest, and trustworthy individual as a major player in the oil and gas industry who is driven by improving the country’s revenue and, thus, its economy,” he added.
