Aremu rallies workers for FG

General secretary, National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers Union of Nigeria , Comrade Isah Aremu, has said  there is need for Nigerian workers to support the Federal Government in its effort to tackle the current economic recession.

This is just as he tasked Nigerians to support government in the anti-corruption crusade because we need the recovered looted funds to develop the country.”

Making the call on Saturday in Kano,  at a one-day interactive session with labour leaders organised by the Corporate Communications Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to promote financial and economic awareness on the measures taken by the (CBN)  Comrade Aremu said giving such support would  ensure stability in the financial system and economy.

He said that the country had been turned to a dumping ground of foreign goods, thereby providing job opportunities for nationals of those foreign countries  “while thousands of our people are being sent to the labour markets day in day out”.

Comrade Aremu noted that government had succeeded in fighting the Boko Haram, fought corrupt tendencies in Nigerians by recovering huge amount of money, adding that presently it is focusing on revamping the economy.

“The Buhari-led administration has done well in the fight against corruption, even though corruption is fighting back.

“This is the President that has zero tolerance for corruption because even the thieves are afraid of their loot.

“As comrades, we must support the present administration under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to sanitise the economy, as well as in the fight against corruption.

“We need to support the government in the anti-corruption crusade because we need the recovered looted funds to develop the country.“
