Archbishop charges Nigerian leaders to stop looting public funds

THE Director, Inter-Religious Affairs Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Archbishop Joseph Dike has charged leaders of the country to stop looting public funds, urging Nigerians to turn back to God for transformational leadership in the country.

The Archbishop, who spoke on the preparation of the church as it celebrates 100 years of existence at a briefing in Lagos, said anyone who loots public fund is looting God’s money and God knows how to get it back.
“Every leader should realise that he is entrusted with divine responsibilities. He is a caretaker of an estate and whatever he does, he must surely pay for it.

“This is because the public treasury does not belong to anybody. it is God’s money because whoever is looting public funds is looting Gods money and no matter what you take out of God, He knows how to recover everything to Himself.

“So, the public office holder should realise that he is given a responsibility and entrusted with the trust of the people and God has invested in him a part of his divine nature to manifest and if he destroys it, its left to him.

“But if we as a people should change our minds and turn back to God then that God, who is love sees our unity of purpose, will give us a leader to lead us to the promise land and these entire crises will be over,” He said.

The ArchBishop also urged the youths not to be ignorant by allowing themselves to use as tools of destructions.

“If I can remember from recent memories from 1999 till date, no election has ever taken place in this country without blood being shed because of ignorance, and the youths make themselves to become willing tools of these wanton destructions.

“All Nigerians should know that whatever they are doing to this country, they are doing it to themselves.

“Political gladiators are businessmen and human beings are their commodities. it is us who should choose either to become tools to be destroyed or to make ourselves what we want to be because if a nation chooses what they deserve, it is our duty to make Nigeria what we want it to be,” The Archbishop explained.
