Appeal Court verdict: Plateau Police Command alleges plot to disrupt peace

The Plateau State Police Command has alleged that some hoodlums and criminal-minded individuals are planning to disrupt the peace currently being enjoyed in the state over the Appeal Court judgment, which declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Dr Nentawe Yiltwada as the governor of the state.

The State Police Command, in a statement signed by its spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, and the State Commissioner of Police, Okoro J. Alawari, warned such persons to abort their criminal intentions, which have the potential to cause chaos and breach of peace in the state.

He also urged all members of the public to respect the court’s verdict, maintain calm across the state, and refrain from any actions that could incite violence or cause harm to the lives and property of the citizenry.

The CP implores all aggrieved parties to do the right thing by seeking redress in a higher court and allowing peace to prevail in the state.

The Plateau Police Chief further appealed to parents, guardians, and religious and traditional leaders to caution their wards, subjects, and followers against participating in any form of misconduct that may disrupt the peace of the state and threatened that the Command will not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone found culpable in accordance with the relevant laws.

CP Alawari assured the public of the command’s unflinching commitment to maintaining law and order and advised Plateau residents to remain calm and conduct their lawful businesses.
