APGA kicks off preparations for 2019

Published by
All Progressives Grand Alliance ‎(APGA), on Thursday, announced that it has already kick-started preparations ahead 2019 general elections.
Part of the steps, according to the party, included resolution to embark on fund-raising activities in order to improve funding for actualisation of its dream to win power in most states and the centre.
Other step includes boosting party membership‎ throughout the country as well as resolving what it described as minor disagreements in five states.
State chairmen as well as deputy‎ national and national vice chairmen of the party took the decisions after a meeting in Abuja.
National publicity secretary of the party, Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, who spoke at the end of the meeting did not provide details into the disagreements in the states but said resolving the impasse would enhance party unity and strength in the affected states.
He said that the states’ chairmen passed vote-of-confidence on the national chairman of the party, Ike Oye, who he said had demonstrated drive and capacity in his leadership.
The publicity secretary said aggrieved members of the National Working Committee (NWC) who had formed parallel leadership were urged to bury the hatchet and return to the fold of the party for its progress.
Earlier, Oye, said that going by the attendance at the meeting, it showed that the party was not depleting as being insinuated.
He said that it equally showed how united the party was‎, even as he confirmed that key issues affecting growth and development of the party was discussed.
“From what you can see, it shows that those who attended this meeting are real APGA people, not impostors,” he said.
