APC will never conquer Brass under my watch, Council boss vows

THE Caretaker Chairman of Brass Local Government Area, Hon. Victor Isaiah, yesterday vowed to do all within his power to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from taking over his LGA from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019/2020 elections in Bayelsa State.

According to Hon Victor Isiah, in spite of threats from the former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva and lawmaker representing Brass constituency 1, Sunny-Goli, who have forced him several times to join the APC, he would never betray his boss, Hon. Seriake Dickson and the PDP.

Hon. Victor Isiah, who is a PDP member and caretaker Chairman of the Brass Local Government Council, where the support of Timipre Sylva and Sunny-Goli hails from, told newsmen in Yenagoa, that on Thursday morning some policemen acting on the instruction of the APC invaded his residence in a commando-style in an attempt to arrest him, in a plot to weaken his resolve to stand firm with the PDP and Hon. Dickson.

He said “prior to the 2015 general elections, Timipre Sylva and Israel Sunny-Goli invited me to Abuja through David Lyon where I was offered a deal with a condition to join the APC.

But I gave a convincing reason why I can’t form an alliance with them as my allegiance is with Governor Seriake Dickson. My refusal to comply with their request and demands caused a provoked reaction and an instantaneous intimidating remark to revoke my surveillance contract”

Hon. Victor Isaiah further revealed that the elected APC member of the State Assembly, Hon. Isreal Sunny-Goli swore to make life a living hell for him for refusing to accept and join forces with him to fight Governor Dickson.

“Israel Sunny-Goli called me on the phone after the meeting and categorically threatened to take away my job which was subleased to me by one of his loyalists.” He explained.

According to the Brass Caretaker Chairman, the lawmaker made true his warning and outrightly took away his inspection job which had recorded an outright cessation of oil theft In the state.

“I worked assiduously to achieve zero tolerance for oil mugging in Bayelsa State while manning the surveillance contract but my endeavors were truncated by the wickedness of Isreal Sunny-Goli who materialised his intimidation.”

Hon. Victor Isaiah ascribed the incessant mayhem in Brass Local Council, since the inception of his administration, as part of the orchestrated ploy by the APC led Israel Sunny-Goli and Timipre Sylva to make true their threats.

“Since i came onboard as interim chairman of Brass Local Government Area, it has been one onslaught after another. First Israel Sunny-Goli sent hired mercenaries to attack me barely a month to my administration leaving scores of my supporters injured and shortly after that uncountable rounds of assault on PDP faithful in Brass.”

Victor Isaiah posited that , “disturbed by my rising popularity as Council Boss and a strong PDP member which was made possible by Governor Dickson, the duo of Israel Sunny-Goli and Timipre Sylva became infuriated and unable to stomach the reality, ordered for my extermination during the ill-fated attack in Twon-Brass that resulted in the death of two and wanton destruction of properties valued at millions of Naira.”

The Council Chairman established that even during his time as SA youth to Governor Dickson, Timipre Sylva and Sunny-Goli frustrated his effort to perform effectively as they opposed his every move to better the lot of Brass youths especially in the areas of youth empowerment and engagement.

Chairman Victor Isaiah lamented that despite all the atrocities of Israel Sunny-Goli bothering on Cultism, Murder and criminality, the lawmaker can gutsily accuse the Governor of intimidation when in reality he (Sunny-Goli) has exhibited a high level of persecution on him.

The Brass Chairman bemoan the allegations by the lawmaker and APC chieftain that Governor Dickson is after him because he refused to join the PDP saying the claims are trumped up as the PDP nor the Governor ever met the lawmaker with a proposal to join the PDP.

Furthermore, Hon. Victor Isaiah asserted that the PDP unlike the APC don’t woo criminals nor adopt or accept dubious characters into its fold. He added that the PDP is responsible for the political relevance they enjoy today.

“The People’s Democratic Party PDP is reformed and has been purged off criminal elements. So there’s no way Governor Dickson will call someone known to have multiple cases before the law to come to join the PDP.

“Sylva and Israel Sunny-Goli are basking in the glory of the PDP which undeniably made Sylva a Governor and Sunny-goli a high powered SA.”
