APC urges security agencies to arrest Zamfara PDP women leader over alleged threats

Published by

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara has called on security agencies to arrest the state PDP women leader, Hajiya Rabi Madawaki, over her alleged threat utterances to opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement, the APC publicity secretary, Yusuf Idris, condemned Madawaki’s comments, made in Hausa language at a gathering in Gusau, where she allegedly said that anyone who doesn’t vote for Governor Dauda Lawal would be maimed and beaten.

The APC described Madawaki’s utterances as “uncultured” and “savage” and expressed concern about what the governor and his associates might be planning against the electorate.

The party emphasized that elections should be free, fair, and non-violent and that the will of the people must prevail.

“We call on the security agencies, especially the police and DSS, to immediately arrest the women leader, Hajiya Rabi Madawaki, over her uncultured utterances, moreover, that she is not covered by any immunity,” the APC stated.

The party highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to remove threats and intimidation from the political scene, emphasizing the need for a peaceful and democratic electoral process.

The APC asserted that as a strong opposition party in the state, it will not be intimidated by any threats from the Zamfara PDP government.
