A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State Professor Dakum Shown, has asked the All Progressive Congress to desist from blame game but focus on revamping the national economy.
Speaking with Nigerian Tribune in Jos, he said Nigerians were tired of assurance and reassurance to fix the economy since the inception of the APC administration in 2015.
“It has been assurance since the APC came to power without any action to prove to the country that they are desirous of fixing the economy. It is glaring that the economy was better under the PDP administration than what we are experiencing today.
“After almost two years in office, it is unfortunate that the APC is still celebrating its 2015 victory, clapping its hands without any serious efforts to give the economy a concrete direction. Nigerians are tired of deceit and therefore want a change as promised by the party,” he said.
Shown, who accused APC of being the brain behind the crisis in PDP at the national level, also alleged that some politicians were planted to disorganise the party, warning that such agents would be consumed if they failed to retrace their steps.
“Based on what we are experiencing, the APC is the easiest party to break. When a party is not democratic, it should expect crisis and disaffection; it is always easy to push out such party. If APC is rejoicing over the travails of PDP, by the time we get to 2019, its crisis would be the worse,” he said.
Shown, who assured that the PDP would regain power in 2019, said the ongoing reconciliation moves among various stakeholders, indicated that the party members were willing to put the past behind them.
On Plateau PDP, the former state chairman declared: “We are doing reconciliation quietly; the PDP lost the 2015 governorship election because of some mistakes. Those, who worked against the party, are fully back to the PDP with assurance to work for the success of the party in 2019. Plateau is PDP, and PDP is Plateau.”
