APC stalwart hails Buhari for appointing Anambra indigenes as ministers

A top member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Chief Amechi Okeke, has commended President Mohamadu Buhari for nomination of 43 ministers to make up his cabinet, saying the team would work to realise the next level project.

Speaking with newsmen on Friday, in Awka, he said Buhari has set in motion ways of addressing some of the challenges facing the country, especially in the area of improving the nations’ economy through relevant fiscal measures.

He said the financial and monetary policies of government would go a long way to solve our economic problems and create job opportunities particularly for the teeming graduates across the country.

He commended government for approving N30,000 minimum wage for workers, insisting that it will go a long way to reduce economic hardship among the low income earners.

He said, “The National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) packaged by the Buhari administration is a welcome development, citing N-Power Project, trader Moni, market money and others, will help to improve lives of many families.

Okeke who also commended the Buhari administration for giving Anambra State two ministerial slots, urged people in the state to continue their supports to the Federal Government, saying that Anambra is APC.

He appealed to Nigerians to tread with caution on the Federal Government Ruga policy, even as he urged people in the South-East to seek more information and explore possible avenues in making the policy relevant and workable.

”Ranches will not only allow herdsmen and their cattle to be established in these areas, it will also encourage agricultural development and bring about the production of milk, beef, revenue from grass cultivation for cattle, employment to the youths and other bye products like manure (animal dung for farmers),” he noted, as he said that the project is practicable in Nigeria.

On security, he said the Federal Government has set up modalities that will tackle criminality including herdsmen/farmers clashes, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, drug trafficking and others, regretting that the criminals had a field day before 2015 when Buhari took over the mantle of leadership.

“People should stop criticizing the government over the rising wave of insecurity. Security watch should be everybody’s concern and not be left solely to the government. People should be their brothers’ keeper,” Okeke said, lamenting that bandits have disorganised many communities through abductions and unwarranted killings in many homes.
