APC professionals endorse Tunde Rahman as Ngelale’s replacement

Published by

Following the decision of Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser (SA) on Media and Publicity to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to proceed on indefinite leave, the leadership of the APC Professionals Council, a group within the ruling party, has urged the president to consider elevating his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media, Mr. Tunde Rahman, to the position of SA on Media, previously held by Ngelale.

It is recalled that Ngelale, the immediate past SA to the President on Media and Publicity, recently requested an indefinite leave of absence on health grounds, which the presidency has granted.

The APC Professionals Council made the appeal to President Tinubu in a statement issued by its Director General, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, emphasizing that Rahman possesses the necessary qualifications to lead the president’s public communications team.

The Council described Rahman as a veteran journalist who had served President Tinubu as a personal media aide for many years, even before he became the nation’s leader. They asserted that Rahman is well-suited for the role, being a true gentleman.

“It is clear that Tunde Rahman is the right man for the job. A thorough gentleman, he has the expertise to hold the office of Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

“As someone who has been with the President for a long time, one could safely consider him a member of the President’s inner circle. Having held the position of SSA to the President on Media, Tunde Rahman has proven himself to be a perfect fit,” the Council stated.

The APC Professionals Council also noted that Mr. Rahman had demonstrated his capability as a versatile journalist with a strong network in the media industry, stating that “such relationships with media owners and other key players are essential for success in this role.”
