The APC Professionals Council, a group within the ruling party, has said about 37,000 youths will benefit from the 7th edition of its tuition-free scholarship scheme, noting that 1000 youths would be beneficiaries from each state of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The National Director General of the Council, Hon. Seyi Bamigbade, made this known on Wednesday in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos, saying that the programme tagged “Renewed Hope Scholarship Scheme,” which is in collaboration with National Image Scholarship (NIS), a consortium for Educational Support Scheme, is aimed at engaging young people interested in advancing their educational pursuit but challenged by finances.
According to the APC chieftain, this is in line with the President Bola Ahmed Tiunbu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda of providing equal opportunity to all to compete favourably since the campaign, pointing out that education plays a pivotal role in raising the frontiers of national development and keeping the young population positively engaged and not in social vices that would be inimical to their future.
“The All Progressives Congress Professionals Council and National Image Magazine, as a Public-Private Partnership (P.P.P.), offer to support less privileged young secondary school leavers with five credits, including English and Mathematics, to advance Participants in their University, Polytechnic (OND/HND Certificates), and College of Education Programmes with free admission into our designed Public-Private Partnership Higher Institutions in Nigeria with Free School Fees Scholarships throughout their careers. We are looking at 1,000 youths from each state of the Federation, including the FCT.
“There is no limit to what our youths can accomplish as more opportunities will be presented to them in pursuing their respective professional careers. It is, therefore, a novel approach to create an Educational Scholarship that supports and enhances productivity by ways of empowerment through the acquisition of quick skill sets and entrepreneurship for immediate employment opportunities, thereafter introducing participants to relevant professional firms for Industrial Attachment.
“The targeted participants are young people within the age bracket of 17–30 who have their five credits, including Mathematics and English, in WAEC, NECO (Awaiting Result), Undergraduate, HND Conversion Academic, and Bachelor Degree Programme,” he stated.
Bamigbade, however, said those interested in benefiting from the scheme should visit https://scholarshipforallyouth.com/
