APC Professionals Council lauds Obasa, Odunmbaku, others’ election victories

APC Professionals Council, a group within the ruling party, has applauded the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Mudashiru Obasa, and the National Chairman of the Mandate Movement, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, among others, for the role they played in ensuring victories for the party in previous polls and the just concluded by-election for Surulere Federal Constituency 1 in Lagos State.

It would be recalled that APC candidate, Laguda was declared the winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after he polled a total of 11,203 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Jerry Afemikhe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored just 278 votes.

Laguda, following his victory, will replace Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the incumbent Chief of Staff (COS) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had resigned his membership in the 10th National Assembly to take up the appointment.

The National Director General of the Council, Dr Seyi Bamigbade, gave this commendation at an agricultural empowerment scheme organised by National Image in partnership with The Mandate Movement in Lagos.

The party chieftain, while also expressing gratitude to other chieftains, including the Chief of Staff (COS) to Lagos State Governor, Mr Tayo Ayinde, and several others of the party for providing technical support that gave APC victory, said the upset witnessed in the state when APC lost the February 25 presidential election in Lagos, the home state of its then candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had been corrected in subsequent elections with the technical support they offered the party, starting with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s reelection and other polls held thereafter in the state.

Bamigbade equally thanked all members of the Special Intervention Committee constituted by the then National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Adamu, led by former Minister of Health, Sen. Olorunnimbe Mamora, whom he said worked tirelessly to ensure that the party won the governorship election.

On the agricultural intervention offered by National Image in partnership with The Mandate Movement in Lagos, Bamigbade thanked the firms for the intervention, describing it as a major boost to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in the area of reducing poverty and hunger through food security.

He, however, appealed to Nigerians to exercise more patience with the Federal Government, saying that efforts were being made to tackle the cost-of-living challenges facing the country, especially the increasing prices of food items.
