LEADER of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief O’tega Emerhor, on Friday, has advanced the reason Deltans are in support of the return of President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019.

He said the President has done well in infrastructural development in the Niger Delta region.

The Senate hopeful for Delta Central Senatorial district, together with the Executive Director, Projects of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Adjogbe, made the disclosure at Evwreni Ward 8 where they cast their votes at the APC presidential primaries.

The exercise, which recorded 840 votes in favour of President Buhari, was conducted in a free and fair atmosphere devoid of violence and rancour.

Emerhor, who affirmed that the entire Evwreni ward has thrown its support for President Buhari and the APC, noted that the people of the area would ensure that the best candidate emerged on the platform of the APC during the forthcoming primaries.

“Buhari has done a lot for us and the entire Delta State and that is why we are acknowledging him as our president for a second term.

“From now till the general election, we would not relent as this is our best chance to transfer Delta State from PDP to APC.

“I believe it is surprising for anyone not to support Buhari because from what we can see, he has done a lot in fighting corruption, insecurity and in developing the Niger Delta,” the former governorship candidate noted.

Adjogbe, on his part, while speaking on the impact of the NDDC in the Niger Delta, said: “When we were sworn in, we were given the specific mandate to come out and develop the Niger Delta so that the people can feel the impact of the allocation accrued to the commission.

“You would agree with me that the region has never experienced the level of development being witnessed under the current board of the NDDC and like the saying goes, whom much is given, much is expected and it is based on that that I’m urging the people to support the reelection of President Buhari for a second term,” he urged.
