The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, made the allegation while addressing newsmen in Abuja, saying the ruling party was using PDP members in its effort to destabilise the party.
The APC, however, described as unfortunate and shameful, the allegation that it was instigating a fresh crisis in the main opposition party ahead of its national convention.
“This is totally uncalled for and a complete act of sabotage. Those making such plans cannot be said to be honest members of our party, the PDP. They are not patriotic but just out to destroy our party,” Adeyeye said.
He, however, said the party was on top of the situation and that the appropriate security agencies would be duly informed of the plot for necessary action with a warning to the PDP members allegedly being used in the plot to desist or face the law.
But reacting in a telephone interview with Saturday Tribune, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, dismissed the allegation as unfounded, ridiculous and shameful.
“Are they saying their members are loyal to APC? If indeed they are PDP members, why are they loyal to us? I think they should be ashamed of themselves.
“It is like a man accusing his neighbour of setting his own children against him. It means they aren’t in control of their own house. It is unfortunate that they aren’t ashamed to make that kind of allegation,” he said.
