FORMER majority leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has won Saturday’s rerun of his Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal constituency.
The candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) reclaimed his seat with 66,667 votes while defeating retired Air Commodore Yusahu Salisu of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 6,323 votes.
While announcing the result of the Doguwa Tudun Wada federal constituency rerun election early Sunday morning, INEC returning officer, Professor Mansur Auwalu Bindawa, declared that Alhassan Ado Doguwa polled the highest number of votes and was returned winner.
It would be recalled that the Kaduna division of Appeal Court nullified the victory of Doguwa in November 2019 and ordered a fresh election across 357 polling units.
