APC leaders hold thanksgiving for Kwara governor-elect

POLITICAL leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State on Monday held a thanksgiving prayer session for the victory of the governor-elect of the State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, with a charge to be people-focused.

The prayer session, which was organised by one of the APC governorship aspirants, Alhaji Moshood Mustapha, coincided with his 56th birthday thanksgiving prayer in Ilorin and was attended by the governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulrazaq, among other party leaders in the State.

In his sermon at the occasion, an Ilorin based Islamic preacher, Ustaz Abdulrasak Ibrahim, called on the newly elected APC political leaders in the State not to disappoint people who have elected them into the position of authority, saying that people may have to revolt when their expectations are not met.

The cleric advised that new government should promote people-oriented programmes to improve the welfare of the residents, saying that they should not be discriminatory in spreading development, but should make it cut across all parts of the State.

Ustaz Ibrahim, who also led the recitation of the Holy Quran, prayed for prosperity, peace and abundance in the State.

He expressed confidence that private business background of the governor-elect would help him run government well.

Commenting on the management of success among the APC bigwigs in the State, Alhaji Mustapha said that the development could seem difficult among politicians of strange bedfellows, saying that there is a need for political leaders to be wise, come together and to serve the people.
