APC governorship candidate sure of party’s victory in Yobe

ALHAJI Maimala Buni, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate for Yobe, has expressed optimism over his party’s victory in the forthcoming general elections.

Buni stated this on Tuesday at an APC Zonal Rally in Gashua, Bade Local Government Area of the state.

The governorship candidate said he was hopeful that President Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates in the state would be victorious.

Buni said the unprecedented turn out of eligible voters at the APC Presidential Campaign Rally on Monday in Damaturu, was an indication of acceptance and expectant victory.

He urged the people to vote massively for Buhari’s re-election bid, adding, “ we shall also vote for all our national assembly candidates to support Federal Government policies.

Also speaking, Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe, said the people had every reason to re-elect the APC because of the achievements recorded by the state and federal governments.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a number the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Yobe, including a former state chairman, Alhaji Lawan-Gana Karasuwa, have defected to the APC ahead of the general elections.

Karasuwa defected along with Dr Mairo Amshi, a former PDP senatorial candidate and others who left PDP for the APC.

The defectors pledged to work for the success of the reelection of President Buhari and all APC candidates in the state.
