APC denies plans to remove Sultan, accuses PDP of inciting violence in Sokoto

The All Progressive Congress  (APC), in Sokoto State, has denied plans of removing the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar after winning the election in the State.

The party condemned the demonstration held on Monday at the Sultan’s palace of purported plan to remove the Sultan after winning the election, saying it was sponsored propaganda to tarnish the image of some innocent person so as to win the hearts of the Sokoto people.

While addressing Journalist at the State Secretariat of the party, the State chairman of the party, Hon. Isa Sadiq Acida together with other party leaders in the State also accused the PDP chairman in the State of making unguarded and inciting statements capable of throwing the State into turmoil.

He accused the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the State of inciting youths to electoral violence in the State ahead of the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections in the State.

The party accused the State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the State Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma and the Zonal Vice Chairman of the party, Alhaji Muhammadu Dangwaggo alongside other party leaders in the State during a rally organized by the PDP youths at the Government House on Saturday.

He accused Milgoma of saying, ” There can only be peace if we win elections.

” We must win the election, by all means, we either win, or there will be death.

” Any government official either Directors or permanent secretary seen at the polling units should be beaten up. If anybody is killed, just throw away the corpse and continue”.

The Party called on law enforcement agencies in the State to take all necessary lawful measures to protect the peace-loving people of Sokoto State.

The statement further disclosed that the people of the have rejected the PDP in the State during the last round of presidential and national assembly elections.

He alleged that the PDP has perfected plans to bribe electoral officers at Local Government levels to allow their supporters to be accredited to vote with PVCs other than their own.

The chairman, however, thanks to some upright officers of the INEC who refused to be lured by any undue inducement. He called on INEC and other security agencies to be more vigilant and rise up to the challenge posed by the PDP.
