APC congress: Redouble efforts to win forthcoming elections, Wase tasks Plateau excos

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Ahmed Wase, on Sunday, urged the newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC), party executive in Plateau State to redouble efforts in taking the party to victory in the forthcoming elections.

The Deputy Speaker also urged the new exco under the chairman Hon Rufus Bature to reach out to aggrieved members to ensure that the unity of the party is maintained.

Speaking at the APC state congress in Jos on Saturday, Hon Wase urged the party executives at the grassroots to ensure they strengthen the party structure and carry its supporters along.

“I want to, first of all, congratulate the outgoing chairman and his executives for leading the party to this level, your contribution to the success of this party will not be forgotten.

“The APC remain the biggest political party in Plateau and across the country, this I believe is as a result of good leadership we have, and this will also serve as a challenge to the new leaders of the party.

“I’m confident that with the calibre of the newly elected exco members, the party will prosper and wax even stronger in the state.”

Hon Wase reminded them that only God gives power to whom he wishes and enjoined the party delegates and party supporters to conduct themselves in a way that will reflect the good image of the state.

On his part, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State affirmed that the APC in Plateau State remains the beacon of democracy and the hope for peace, progress and unity in the state.

In his remarks, the newly elected Chairman of the State APC, Hon Rufus Bature, promised to uphold the trust reposed on them by the state governor and members of the party.
