APC chieftain says NASS shutdown is against national interest

Yakubu Dogara and Bukola Saraki

AN All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate in Jigawa state, Honourable Yusif Shitu Galambi, accused the NASS leadership of Senate President Bukola Sara‎ki, and Speaker, House of Assembly, Hon Yakubu Dogara, of lack of nationalism by shutting down the National Assembly, which appeared to be totally against the national interest.

Galambi expressed his dismay on how the two leaders prioritised their personal interest above the collective national interest.

According to him, the National Assembly members were elected to make laws and bills that would help in driving the nation to achieve greater economic development, social and political stability, but the action of Senator Bukola and Hon Dogara appeared to be negating it.

He noted that there are many pending issues that required the National Assembly’s attention, but because they have been closed down for a month all the ‎related national interest have been halted.”
