A All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and businessman and politician, Akinjide Kazeem Akinola has congratulated Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as he is honoured with the Mafaran Sakkwato, one of the most important titles in Sokoto by the Sultan, Alhaji Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III.
Akinola, who described the former Zamfara governor as a tireless leader and one who has dedicated himself to putting smiles on the faces of the people.
In a personally signed statement, Akinola who described the incumbent senator as his dearest leader, noted that “the conferment on your humble self, the prestigious MARAFAN SAKKWATO title, by His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III CFR, is another testament of your leadership qualities.
“For someone who is close to you, I make bold to say that I am amazed by this honour, especially as it comes from the revered Sultan.
“Most times when I look at your genuineness and intentionality, I ask others who are also in your circle how and when you would rest. Between 2007 and 2011 when you were in the House of Representatives, your legacy stands. Between 2011 and 2019 when you served the people of Zamfara as governor, you etched your name in gold and almost 6 years after, your names still reverberate. That 8 years, I can recall, can be regarded as a period of nothing in Zamfara but you brought out something— like water from an empty well! It was during that time that your colleagues made you the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
“Though your performance and kindness have earned you many honours and titles, one of which is the Shattiman Zamfara, I know for a fact that this new feather would motivate you the more to continue in your quest to bring smiles to the faces of the people.
“I join you in thankingAlhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III CFR for bestowing on you one of the most important titles in the Sokoto Sultanate.I am proud to be associated with you Sir. Congratulations Jagora!,” he added.
