Anyaoku congratulates Moghalu over appointment as ASG president

Former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, on Monday congratulated a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Kingsley Moghalu, on his appointment as the President of the African School of Governance (ASG).

He said he was convinced that Moghalu’s appointment would make the achievement of the objective of the ASG easy.

The former presidential candidate in Nigeria was on Monday unveiled as the pioneer president of the organisation.

Anyaoku, in a statement he personally signed and made available to Nigerian Tribune, noted that Africa needed leaders that are well equipped with knowledge on how to tackle the myraid of challenges facing the continent.

The statement read, “I believe that you will be a tremendous asset to the realization of the visionary objective of the distinguished African leaders namely, Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame and former Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn in co-founding this institution in consultation with a number of their African colleagues.

“Africa needs leaders equipped with the knowledge of how to tackle the myriad governance challenges facing many countries on the continent.

“I am sure that with your rich experience garnered in your long strategic service in the United Nations and at the Nigeria’s Central Bank, you will successfully steer the new institution towards achieving its very worthy objectives.”
