CHAIRMAN of the Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nasarawa State chapter, Alhaji Muhammad Huseni, has said that any governor who refuses to accept the Federal Government’s plan to build RUGA settlements for Fulani in their state “wants crisis to continue.”
Huseni said this in an interview with Sunday Tribune in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, stressing that the RUGA project across the 36 states of the federation would curb incessant farmers-herders crisis.

He urged stakeholders across the country to join other governors by keying into the programme for a lasting solution to the lingering crisis in their states.
“Any governor that does not want RUGA settlement in his state is a lover of crisis and doesn’t want farmers-herders clashes to end in Nigeria. Such governors will like the crises to continue in order to be collecting security votes from FG.
“But we are suggesting to the Federal Government to penalise any governor who is not ready for the RUGA project in his state,” he stated
According to the chairman, the Fulani in Nasarawa State were fully prepared and in support of the government plan, pleading with other tribes who have negative impressions about the scheme to have a change of mind.
