Another Nine passengers kidnapped in Kogi within two weeks

Published by

Some gunmen kidnapped nine passengers in Oshokoshoko along the Kabba/Obajana/Lokoja road on Saturday evening.

The kidnapped individuals include two students, two women, and four men.

According to information gathered by our reporter, the incident occurred last Saturday between 4 and 5 pm when the passengers, who were traveling from Kabba to Lokoja, departed from the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Kabba.

Elupo Eliazer, a person with a disability whose wife is among the victims, stated that the kidnappers initially demanded 30 million but later reduced it to 2.6 million after negotiation.

“My wife and I were traveling to attend our church convention scheduled for Lokoja, but I decided to follow a different vehicle as the Toyota could not contain all of us; otherwise, I would have been in the car with her.”

He mentioned that the vehicle his wife was traveling in was ahead of the one he was in, but all the occupants of the vehicle had been marched into the bush by the time his own vehicle reached the spot.
