The Zonal Vice Chairman, North East, Alhaji Kwairanga Magaji, who read the communiqué after the meeting in Abuja, said after extensive deliberations on the state of the party, the NEC resolved to set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the anti-party activities of the National Auditor, Mr Ismail Ayodele, National Secretary, Mr Akin Fashogbon and National Publicity Secretary, Mrs Nola Morufat Olayinka.
It will be recalled that another faction of the party had, on September 6, suspended Avazi for gross misconduct and anti-party activities and elected the National Auditor, Mr Ismail Ayodele, to act as chairman for three months pending the outcome of the disciplinary committee set up to investigate all the allegations.
Arising from its NEC, the Avazi led AD, said the party set aside the congress conducted in Anambra State and re-affirmed Greg Akabueze as the Acting Chairman. It also redirected that the NEC should ensure a replacement of the gubernatorial candidate of the party for the state.
It further directed that all the deputies to the principal officers suspended to act in their positions pending the determination of their cases.
NEC also directed that chairman and acting secretary should revisit the list of the party’s principal officers in the Independent Electoral National Commission (INEC) Website.
NEC therefore directed each geo-political zone to meet and recommend appropriate officers to fill vacant positions in each zone.
