Ankara reloaded: The worn-over with shirt trend

There are so many varieties of ways in slaying ankara styles. Apart from sewing it with modern show-stopper styles, the latest stunning twist to styling a sleeveless ankara is by wearing it over a shirt, basically white.

Pop diva, Tiwa Savage was the first fashionista to try out this trend. She caused a stir when she was spotted wearing an iro and buba under a white shirt. While some people frowned at the bizarre style combination, style enthusiasts and trend spotters were quick to notice the beauty in the ‘bizzare’ combo and took it to another level by sewing the ankara with different sleeveless styles and pairing it with a white shirt.

From sleeveless peplum tops to sleeveless rompers, gowns and even Iro and buba, and worn-over with shirt which gives and edgy and dramatic look, this trend is fast becoming a thing in the fashion industry.

The style can be worn to church, if you are afraid of showing off your arms, to the office and even to an event, if styled properly as seen in these pictures.
