Angry tenant stones landlord to death over electricity bill in Delta

A tenant has stoned his landlord to death in Ozoro, Delta State, after a heated argument over an electricity bill.

Reports say the incident happened on Monday, August 23, 2021, along Hospital road, Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.

Residents of the area were said to have found the tragedy shocking creating fears at the same time.

Witnesses told journalists that the landlord, simply identified as Monday, had gone to his tenants to collect their contribution for the electricity bill.

An argument was said to have ensued, leading to the tenant, whose name could not be ascertained, hitting the landlord’s head with a stone.

He simply slumped and gave up the ghost.

Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state Police Command, Mr Bright Edafe, confirmed the manslaughter and the arrest of the culprit.
