Published by

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has shown strong strength in the results of the Anambra State governorship election from the five local governments released as of 7.02 a.m. on Sunday.

In the results collated at the LGAs, APGA is leading with a wide margin in Anambra East, which has a total of 98,426 registered voters: with 14,419 accredited to vote at the election. The yet to be confirmed result indicated the APGA led the rival PDP and APC by over 7, 000 votes.

In Anaocha LGA with 109,860 registered voters and 15,940 accredited voters, APGA equally widenED the gap with over 1,000 votes against PDP which was in the second position and APC in third position.

The situation in Onitsha South LGA is the same as Soludo’s APGA leads both the APC and PDP with over 2,000 votes. The LGA has a total of 156,775 registered voters and 9,406 accredited voters.

Awka South LGA is another council where APGA has shown strong strength, leading APC by over 10,000 votes and PDP with over 7,000 votes. The accredited number of voters in the LGA is put at 23,854 against the 176,812 registered voters.

The pattern of voters apathy continued in Orumba South LGA where only 10,554 accredited voters turned out in a council area with a total number of registered voters put at 74,690.

Like in the previous four LGAs, APGA again led in Orunmba South with over 2,000 votes.

There are 21 LGAs in Anambra State.
