The Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt.Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze, has described the Minister of Education, Prof.Tahir Mamman, as a renowned educationist who has enough experience to step up the standard of education in Nigeria.

Speaking to newsmen in his office on Thursday, on the Minister’s recognition and appreciation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s accomplishments in the education sector in the state, Udeze noted that the Minister’s appreciative comments are enough motivation to both Governor Soludo and the entire citizenry.

The Speaker recounted some of Governor Soludo’s giant strides in education to include employment of five thousand teachers, ongoing recruitment of another three thousand teachers, introduction of free education in state’s public schools from nursery to junior secondary three, training and retraining of teachers, rehabilitation of schools as well as sponsoring various school’s competitions among others.

He reminded the Education Minister that since the inception of Governor Soludo’s administration, Anambra State teachers and students have continued to excel in both National and International Competitions — a situation he attributed to Governor Soludo’s genuine efforts in moving the education sector in the state to enviable heights.

Udeze also enjoined the Minister to partner Governor Soludo in his pragmatic efforts in taking education in the country to the next level by ensuring that the federal government invests heavily in education especially in Anambra State.

The Speaker, on behalf of the State House of Assembly, also commended Governor Soludo for making Ndi Anambra proud and also distinguishing the state among her counterparts through his introduction and implementation of sustainable education policies and Programmes in the state.
