The Zone 13 Police Command, located in Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra, held a ceremony to decorate five senior officers promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) on Saturday.
In a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer at Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, CSP. Ihunwo Josephine, the decorated officers, were those recommended for promotion by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to the Police Service Commission (PSC) for approval. They were promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to the substantive rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
The promoted officers, who were decorated in a colourful and delightful ceremony at the Zonal Headquarters in Ukpo-Dunukofia, included ACP Prince Ugochukwu Ezejiofor (O/C Zonal Special Enquiry Bureau, ZSEB, Zone 13 Ukpo), ACP Celestine Tochukwu Umeh (O/C SID, Anambra State Command), ACP Judu Nwabugwu Ohaja (AC SCID, Awka), ACP Elha Clever C. (DPO, Ogui Enugu Command), and ACP Oshiobugie Jafaru Emoefe (CFO, Anambra Police Command).
The ceremony was presided over by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 13 Ukpo, AIG Godwin Ndidi Aghaulor, and assisted by the Deputy Commissioner of Zonal CID, Ukpo, DCP Shauibu Sani Mnis, along with officers from the Zonal Management Team and some family members of the newly promoted officers.
AIG Aghaulor congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to redouble their efforts in ensuring the efficient delivery of the Nigeria Police Force’s mandate. The ceremony was attended by loved ones, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers.
The event concluded with the promoted officers expressing their gratitude to the IGP, the Force leadership, and the leadership of the PSC. They assured the AIG of their commitment to their new roles and a continued effort in the discharge of their official duties.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the event also featured a send-off party organised by the zonal command in honour of it AIG, Mr Godwin Aghaulor, who has just retired from the service.
