Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige
The All Progressive Congress ( APC), has constituted a governorship campaign council for the Anambra Nov. 18 governorship election, the state party chairman has said.
The Chairman, Barr Emeka Ibe, who announced this in Awka on Sunday, said that the council will be headed by Minister of Labour, Employment and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige.
Ibe who is also a member of the council, listed other members to include the former party Aspirant Chief Geoge Mogahalu as vice chairman.
Others are Tony Nwoye Director of Finance, Engr. Johnbosco Onukwu, Bath Nwibe, paul chukwuma, the youth leader, while Mr Afam Obi will serve as the Publicity Secretary.
He said that all serving and former members of the national and state assemblies, as well as all the governorship aspirants of the party, would also serve as members.
Ibe charged members of the committee to take the assignment seriously, saying that all hands must be on deck to defeat the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
While congratulating Dr Tony Nwoye for emerging tops in the governorship primary, Ibe charged him to carry everybody along as all the aspirants have agreed to work for his victory.
Nwoye who also spoke expressed his readiness to restore the lost glory of the state if elected the governor on Nov. 18.
Mogahalu on behave of the committee chairman, Dr Ngige, who was absent at the Inauguration, promised to lead the party to victory, and described the members as among the trusted and tested politicians in the state.
