Communities in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State have pledged unflinching support to the Chief Raphael Asha Nnabuife led caretaker Committee of the local government to enable it succeed.
The communities also pledged to ensure the re-election of Anmabra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, for a second term in office.
This stand was declared when more than 2000 Obosi indigenes led by the Chairman Obiano Youth Support Group, Idemili North Local Government led by Chief Alex Chukwurah, stormed the Ogidi headquarters of the local government to pledge their support to the caretaker committee and the re-election of Chief Obiano for a second term in office.
The Obosi group, who arrived the venue around 3pm, came with dance groups, commending Chief Obiano for re-appointing Nnabuife to the leadership of the Local Government.
Speaking at the occasion, the leader of the group, Chief Alex Chukwurah, said that he was convinced that the appointment was based on Chief Nnabuife’s excellent performance in his past leadership of the local government and called on everybody in the local government to support the administration.
Also speaking, the proprietor of Garden Chief Arthur Udo commended Obosi people for taking the lead in the solidarity visit.
Chief Udo said that Nkpor indigenes were already making arrangement to pay similar visit to Chief Nnabuife and his Caretaker team whom he said, were appointed on merit.
According to him, Nkpor people were resolute that Chief Willie Obiano should be re-elected for a second term as governor, to enable him complete the many projects he was already executing in the state.
Earlier, the chairman of APGA in Idemili Local Government, Chief Kentius Onwurah, had expressed delight at the decision of Obasi people to pay solidarity visit to the re-appointed. Local government Caretaker chairman.
Responding, Chief Nnabuife said he would serve Idemili North people much better than before, in order to justify the confidence reposed in him by the governor.
He called on the people to do all within their powers to return Chief Willie Obiano for a second term in office.
Earlier in the day, a congregation of Bishops had conducted service at the Council chambers of the local government for the governor and the Caretaker committee.
