Anambra Central: Umeh flags off reelection campaign

THE Senator representing Anambra Senatorial District and the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Senator Victor Umeh, on Monday, flagged off his 2019 re-election campaign at Saint John Secondary School Akwu-ukwu in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Senator Umeh who express satisfaction over the large turnout of supporters including students of the school told the crowd that the constituency under his watch would see more development in his second term and promised that he would focus majorly on human capital development, creation of job opportunities, scholarship for less previllege students across the seven Council Areas of Awka South, Awka North, Anocha, Njikoka, Dunokofia, Idemili South and Idemili North that constitute the senatorial District.

Umeh said he will continue to move motions that would bring more development not only to the constituency but to the entire Igbo Nation if reelected for the second term.

He listed some of the achievement projects recorded in one year as a first timer in the red chambers which include; scholarship to over 70 students worth 10 million, training of 161 youths in skill acquisition, empowerment of no less 30 tricycles (keke nappap), to unemployed graduates, construction of Primary Health Center at Oba community Worth 15 million and the motion for the establishment of the South east development commission.

He said what he is going to do in the next four years in legislative businesses will be greater that what he has already done. “The election is just by the corner and I urge you all to vote for me and other APGA candidates in the forthcoming elections. All over the world, excellence does not happen by chance; it is usually a direct result of clear vision, smart decisions and bold resolve to rise above average. I plead that I should be given another chance to turn excellence into a habit. I represent dignity in labour and reward for hard work.

“I welcome those who will contest the senatorial election with me but I must remind them all that the constituency and the state at large belongs to all of us. Elections will come and go but Anambra will remain. We must refuse every temptation to make this election a do or die affair and turn our dear state into a war zone. We have the responsibility to preserve the peace the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano have worked very hard to bring to Anambra State today; I reach out my hands in fellowship to you and urge you to help keep Anambra state safe and peaceful.”he added.

The member representing Idemili south state constituency in Anambra state house of Assembly, Hon. Chuka Ezewunne, who commended the Senator for his boldness, assured him of 100 percent votes in the constituency.

Some of the personalities who were present at the flag off include APGA board of trustees member, Chief Rommy Omwuka, Idemili South Transition Chairman, Chief Don Ononkwu, the Director General of the Campaign Organization, Chief Emeka Odedeme among other party faithful.
