Anambra APC ward congress, huge success for 2019 ―Ngige

THE Minister of Labour and productivity Senator Chris Ngige has described the All Progressive Congress party ward congress delegate election that took place in all parts of the state as a huge success for the 2019 general elections and a positive signal for the party in its national convention.

 

The Minister said this yesterday in his country home Alor, Idemili South Local Government, were he monitor the ward congress delegate elections.

He used the exercises to commend APC members in all the wards of the state for the peaceful manner the exercise was conducted and informed the Congress committee and the INEC officials that he personally went out to monitor the event and asserted that there was no reported case of breakdown of law and order during the process.

Ngige who call on the people to obtain their PVC at the designated centre and vote for President Mohammadu Buhari maintained that Anambra and the entire Igbo extraction is a home to APC and APC remains the only viable option for the Igbo’s considering the success recorded by the party in just three and half years.

Speaking further Ngige said despite the security challenges Buhari administration has been able to make some positive impact on the socio-economic repositioning of the country which include the ongoing construction of second Niger Bridge, Abuja-Kaduna railway project, Lagos- Ibadan expressway, Onitsha- Enugu, improved power supply among others.

He used the opportunity to appreciate the congress committee for the honour, of visiting him in his state and commended them for going round to monitor the exercise in the state.

Earlier in his speech, the INEC electoral officer in Idemili North council Area, Mr. F.O Ekhaguere said they were impressed with what they witnessed in the state on the conduct of the ward congresses.

Ekhaguere expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the ward congresses in the state saying, There is harmony in Anambra state.

He maintained that in all the places visited as part of the exercise, and it was smooth and peaceful and there was an adequate mobilisation of all the security apparatus in case of any breakdown of law and order and commended such sense of commitment and patriotism exhibited by the state.
