Anambra APC returns Ibe, Agupugo, others at congress

THE Anambra State All Progressive Congress APC, State Congress ended with incumbent Chairman, Barister Emeka Ibe and the State Secretary, Barr. Chuma Agopugo retaining their seats.
The return of these officers followed an affirmation by the delegates that the duo be retained as Chairman and Secretary, respectively.
Other officers also emerged victorious at the Congress held at the Prof. Dora Akuyilli Women Development centre Awka through affirmation.
Earlier, the leader of the Congress committee from Abuja, Prince Emma Chida, explained that affirmation became the only option as the leaders and members of the party in the state were united in presenting a formidable team that would take the state to the next level.
He commended State leader of the party, who is the Minister of Labour and productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, elders and the entire APC family for speaking with one voice.
When the question was put, the delegates chorused in affirmation of Barr. Ibe and other members of the executive of the party.
In his speech, Senator Chris Ngige expressed satisfaction with the peaceful outcome of the Congress.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of the Congress showed that APC remained one big united family that could harness the advantages of unity to move forward.
He maintained that there was no faction in the state chapter of the party and urged the newly elected executives to explore the existing unity of purpose in the party and imbibe team spirit to move the state forward ahead of 2019 general elections.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Barr. Emeka Ibe expressed gratitude to the party elders, the press and the entire delegates for their support, adding, that he would bring to bear his vast experience in moving the state chapter of the party to the next level.
