Anambra 2025: YPP begins sale of guber form March 1

The national leadership of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) has commenced the sale of nomination forms for the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.

The National Secretary of the party, Hon. Vidiyeno Bamaiyi, disclosed this while briefing journalists after a one-day sensitization workshop held at the Hollywood Event Center along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway in Awka on Friday. He stated that the sale of forms would begin on March 1 and close on April 8, 2025.

Bamaiyi, however, did not disclose the amount set for the nomination form but promised that the price would be unveiled as the process unfolds.

He assured that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), under the leadership of Comrade Bishop Emmanuel Amakiri, is fully prepared for the election.

Speaking at the briefing, the leader of the party in Anambra State, High Chief Chinedu Umeadi, explained that the workshop was organized to strategize and reposition the party ahead of the Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election and the November 8 gubernatorial poll.

According to him, the sensitization workshop aimed to inform the public, particularly Ndi-Anambra, that the YPP under his leadership remains strong and fully prepared for the upcoming elections.

“We are deeply rooted politically across the 21 local government areas in the state. We believe that the future of our state belongs to us, and it is our responsibility to shape it. We must come together, share our visions, and work towards a common goal to make Anambra great again,” Umeadi stated.

In his remarks, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Prince Moses Obi, urged members to begin a door-to-door mobilization campaign across the 326 wards in the state. He also thanked Chief Umeadi for sponsoring the workshop and for his continued commitment to the growth and development of the party in Anambra State.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the event, themed “The Anambra of Our Dream: Re-strategizing for a Better Future,” was organized by the state chapter of the party to educate members and brainstorm on ways to strengthen the party ahead of the election.

The event also witnessed the presence of the leading aspirant for the party in the forthcoming Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election, Hon. Sir Benjamin Nwosu, among others.
