Anambra 2021: Joy Emodi’s defection, a plus to APC, says Ejidike

The Anambra State Acting Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Basil Ejidike, on Friday, said the defection of the former member of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Board of Trustees, Senator Joy Emodi and her supporters into its fold has added more chances for the party to win the November 6, 2021, Anambra governorship election.

Ejidike, who express happiness over the defection while briefing Journalists, at the State party Secretariat in Awka, the Anambra State Capital, also disclosed that two Senators from the state, will in three weeks time join the party, as well.

He noted that with the defection of Senator Joy Emodi, the awaited two state Senators, top Politicians in the state and the already existing unity among supporters, APC is sure of winning the election.

He announces that the party, as of today in the state, have a total of five hundred (500) thousand active registered members in the state.

He accused the state governor, Willie Obiano, of piloting the affairs of the state from his USA residents.

“There is no security structure, put in place, cultism practices has taken over Anambra communities, high rate of unemployment in the state among others has become the order of the day. And This is why APC has come to provide what People Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), could not provide for 22-years of Democratic dispensation in Nigeria.

He urged all members of the party in the state to come out en masse and support the party during its campaign.

The State Acting Chairman, use the opportunity to congratulate the party flag bearer, Senator Andy Uba and his Deputy, Barrister Emeka Okafor, on their emergence.

Ejidike, commended president Mohammadu Buhari’s giant developmental strides in the South East on Second Niger Bridge, Enugu Onitsha Expressway, Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway and school feeding programme as well as other micro-economic and social programmes.

He urged the Anambra people and the entire South-East to support Buhari’s administration based on his achievement in the zone.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that Senator Joy Emodi, was the former Senator, representing Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Abuja, between 2003-2010.
