THE 75th anniversary of the Nigerian Tribune, Nigeria’s oldest newspaper, is an inspiring and uplifting testament to the enduring power of ideas through the transient peaks and troughs of the human struggle for power and relevance. The Nigerian Tribune bestrides the Third Realm like a colossus, summoning us to reimagine the idea of power with the power of ideas-ideas rooted in moral clarity and an iron-clad commitment to public good.

Through its army of reporters, writers and editors, the people’s Tribune has remained steadfast in its commitment to this compelling, transcendent vision of its founding father, the one and only Pa Obafemi Awolowo. I join millions of well wishers around the world to celebrate the Nigerian Tribune as it continues to raise consciousness through its incisive and forthright interventions in the struggle to realise the Africa of our collective dream.
