Published by

With great anticipation and buzz, nominees of this year’s Africa Magic’s Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) have again proven that they are ready to keep the entertainment scene buzzing with rave as they are set to keep industry, heads, actors and actresses spellbound in Lagos today.

The nominees which include, Rita Dominic, Bimbo Akintola, Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jombo, Omoni Oboli, and Funke Akindele are in close race with each other for the best Actress award  in different categories, while RMD, Ramsey Nuoah, Olu Jacobs, Femi Jacobs and Gregory Ojefua top the list for the best Actor Award.

Also for the Best Movie from west Africa, ‘The CEO ‘ by Kunle Afolayan, 76, Oloibiri, ‘A trip to Jamaica’ are up for nominations while Mrs Right Guy and Happiness is a four-Letter word, All about love and Vaya , lead the nominees’ list for the Best Movie award from South Africa.

Despite being a regional ceremony, the management of MNET insisted that having AMVCA in Lagos was not a big deal, insisting that all that matters was having a successful show.

While refusing to disclose veterans to be honoured this year, it insisted that it was in their tradition to disclose names at the Awards ceremony. So who will be the veterans honoured? We can only anticipate. It will be recalled that   At the last edition, late Bukky Ajayi and Sadiq Daba were honoured, which was quite emotional. Few months later, Bukky Ajayi died.
