Officers of the Ekiti State Security Network, known as Amotekun Corps have paraded the nooks and crannies of the state to create awareness on their readiness to get rid of criminals.
The parade tagged, ‘Show of Force ‘ was carried out through a motorcade in partnership with other security agencies across communities in the three senatorial districts of the state.
Speaking, the new commandant of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Brigadier General Olu Adewa (retd) said the exercise was put together to send a signal to criminals that it will not be business as usual.
Adewa reaffirmed the readiness of the corps to flush out criminals from the state using both traditional and technological means.
He said that the outfit would continue to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the safety of the lives and property of residents.
The Commandant who warned criminal-minded people to stay away from the state, said that he was determined to ensure swift responses to distress calls by residents.
He promised to consolidate the achievements of the corps recorded under the immediate past commander, Brigadier General Joe Komolade (retd) towards ensuring the security of lives and property of the state.
“Amotekun has done a great job in Ekiti there is no doubt about that and with God on our side, we will build on what the pioneer commander did with the cooperation of everyone in the state, to forge ahead and record new successes, ” Adewa said.
He called on Ekiti people to always supply credible and timely information to the corps to ensure a crime-free environment.
