While corroborating the effort of the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and other personalities in the zone, Obey noted that it was ideal for Yewa to benefit greatly from Ogun State, adding, “We are hopeful and we trust God that this will come to  reality, because I also feel the table should turn to Yewa considering its  great towards the development of Ogun state since its creation.”

The music icon revealed that though he is Abeokuta-born, he was proud to adopt Idogo under Yewa Local Government, said that the adoption was part of his effort to keep his promise he made to his mother.

“Many people are aware of my story, but the reason I adopted Idogo in Yewa Local Government, was to keep my mother’s promise. She told me on several occasion not to forget Idogo. That she was put to shame in Lagos because of her barrenness for almost 20 years, but God covered her shame in Idogo. So, I should not for no reason forget Idogo town.

“So, I thank God for the grave to keep to her promise. This was where I was conceived. I was born in Lagos and brought back to Igodo.
